How to Claim the CSC Certificate of Eligibility

Congratulations! You passed the Civil Service Exam!

Now what?

The whole reason why you wanted to take and pass the Civil Service Exam is so that you can work for the government. But hold it right there, you will need the CSC Certificate of Eligibility to apply for a position in the government.

The CSC Civil Service Eligibility certification a requirement that will be asked of you when you are applying to work in a certain position in the government. This certificate is given to all passers of the Civil Service Examination, whether it is for Professional or Sub-Professional eligibility.

There are two kinds of CSC Certificate of Eligibility, the temporary and the regular. The temporary Certification of Eligibility is given, free of charge, to individuals upon passing the Civil Service Exam. It is printed on a regular piece of paper which is only valid for 2 years from the date of its release. Take note that this type of certification cannot be authenticated.

The second type is the regular Certificate of Eligibility. This one would cost Php 10 and is printed on a piece of security paper. This type of certification can be authenticated. Additionally, this certification has no expiration and date and is generally preferred by government agencies once you start applying for a position.

How to claim CSC Certificate

Once you have passed the civil service examination, it is not possible for you to claim your certificate right away. Claiming of certification is generally announced 30 days after the results have been posted. The only time you can claim your Certificate of Eligibility once the Civil Service Commission has announced its availability.

To claim your CSC Certificate, contact the nearest CSC Office to confirm the availability of your certification before heading out. You can easily contact these offices by visiting the Civil Service Commission’s website where all the contact numbers and email addresses are posted.

Take note that you need to personally claim your certification. Representatives are not allowed to claim them for you.

Requirements for claiming

Here are the documentary requirements that you need to bring to claim your CSC Certificate of Eligibility:

  • Valid ID; the same card that you presented upon application for the exam, preferably.
  • Application Receipt or the CSC Official Receipt, if available.

If you are planning to claim a regular CSC Certificate of Eligibility, prepare these requirements:

  • Payment of Php 100 per copy
  • 2 valid IDs
  • Application Receipt or the CSC Official Receipt, if available.
  • 1 x1 photo of yourself with name tag and signature
  • Fully accomplished Exam Records Request Form
  • Fully accomplished Declaration Form

Procedure for claiming CSC Certificate

  1. Make sure to fill-out the ERRF and DF forms when claiming your certificate. Submit your forms to the personnel in the office and you will be issued an Order of Payment.
  2. Pay the fee amounting to Php 100 then wait for the Official Receipt to be given.
  3. Present the Official Receipt to the Verification Officer. They are in charge of verifying or validating the information and data based on the records. Just wait for them to process the request.
  4. The encoder will then encode the personal and examination details if the records are deemed accurate. They will now proceed to print the certification.
  5. The senior personnel or supervisor in the office will review data and affix initials on the copy of the certification.
  6. The CSC Regional Director will then affix their signature on the certification.
  7. After securing all the copies of the certificate and the submitted ID cards, the officer will now release your certificate. You will be asked to affix your signature on the release section of the ERRF.

Throughout this whole procedure, you can expect to claim your license within half an hour to one hour. This will totally depend on the number of people in the office claiming their certifications as well.

Once you got your CSC Certificate of Eligibility, that’s not really the end of it. For those who have their regular Certificate of Eligibility, you would need to authenticate it upon claiming.

This is how you can authenticate your CSC Certificate of Eligibility:

  1. Make sure to fill out a copy of the ERRF then submit your form to the ERS-IRMO Action Officer. They will review your accomplished form and you will be issued an Order of Payment to be paid to the Cashier.
  2. Pay the fee amounting to Php 50 then wait for the Official Receipt to be given by the Cashier.
  3. Present the Official Receipt to the Verification Officer. They are in charge of verifying or validating the information and data based on the records. Just wait for them to process the request.
  4. They will proceed to photocopy your CSC Certificate of Eligibility or Report of Rating, and ID cards if the records are deemed accurate.
  5. The senior personnel or supervisor in the office will review data and authenticate the certification.
  6. Now proceed to the ERS-IRMO REasiling Officer. They will release your authenticated copy of the Certificate of Eligibility and your Report of Rating. Make sure to affix your signature on the release section of the ERRF.
